Meet Sarah Hess
By now, you may know the premise of the world of Eldriko. If not, let me explain. Some people on Earth, good people, will die an untimely death and they still have important things to accomplish in their lives. These people may find themselves on a world like Eldriko where they have an opportunity to finish what fate holds for them.
When one of these special people find themselves on a world like Eldriko, they may find assistance from one of the inhabitants of Eldriko like Sarah Hess. When Jack Marshall faced Sarah for the first time, He was confused by the whole experience, and this caring young woman offered her help to the strangely dressed Offlander.
A Journey of Self-Discovery
Who was Sarah? In many ways, she was as common as any other young maiden of the island of Asher. Sarah’s size, at 5'1", misled those who met the fiery merchant’s daughter. Her father sent her to live with his brother in hopes of she securing a competent husband. When she arrived at her uncle’s ranch, she discovered a freedom she lacked under her father’s direction. After completed her chores on the ranch, she found new interests that included the study of herbal remedies of the rural settings. She started keeping a journal of the traits of the herbs found around the ranch and the healing properties of each.
She took to carrying a pouch in which she carried her herbal journal and the herbs she collected each day to distill and infuse in oil for healing. Everywhere she walked or rode, she looked for the types of herbs that a local midwife taught her about.
Raised in the traditions of the city’s orthodox religion, Sarah learned her appreciation for the nature based worship style among the rural communities. The folk songs and dances drew her attention in the evenings.
Uncovering Hidden Strengths
With her new environment, Sarah dreamed of more. Not will to accept things just as they seemed, Sarah sought new mental and spiritual adventures. She soon found a life based on the dictates of the culture around her no longer satisfied. She dreamed of the adventure that would expand her experiences and her desire to become a true healer rather than just the provider of potions.
Embracing Her Destiny
She didn’t realize it, but the day she met Jack started her on a new journey of discovery. A trek knowledge and self-exploration that carried her well beyond the land of her birth. And with that passage, she found a new and exciting, albeit dangerous, life.
